Cutesy Family Journal

I'm sure this keepsake journal will be exactly what some mothers need through their pregnancy, but it didn't fit our desires that well. The book is definitely formatted super cutesy; while the design of the book is great, we wish the content was better organized and more suited towards the baby. This book is geared toward the family (not saying it's a bad thing, we just wanted something much more heavily focused on the baby). It starts with filling out profiles for the mom and dad, how we met, and yaddy yaddy yada. It's not until maybe a third or a fourth into the book that the journal starts focusing on the baby (finally!). There is some nice content that predicts whether you will have a boy or girl, (the journal was correct in predicting our baby's gender) and cutesy envelopes attached onto the pages so that you can write a letter to your child. The rest of the journal is broken up into three trimesters.
All in all, this is a great pregnancy journal focused on the family, (parents plus new baby) but if you're looking for something focused on the baby, I'd suggest a different journal. Still happy with our purchase because it'll be a wonderful keepsake to remind ourselves the experiences and memories of our first pregnancy. However, if we have another child, we will probably go with a different journal the second time.

You must get it!

I absolutely love my journal. It focuses so much on the family and the love between the couple. It asks for letters to the baby, pictures, hopes, dreams you name it! I get to write out as much as I want and give lots of details I know our child will love reading. This is the best one and I've looked at them all.

It is not easy to make this journal suit my needs

This should be for a new mom. I read many reviews that made it sound suitable for an experienced mom, but there is so much space to devoted to new maternity clothes, and body changes, items being bought for the baby, and the husband's response to the pregnancy. Let's face it, by baby #3, I just want a place to track pictures and ultrasounds, write about crazy pregnancy dreams and letters to baby, and keep announcements. It is not easy to make this journal suit my needs, so I'd really only recommend it for new mom's who are highly focused on their marriage, appearance, wardrobe, and building the nursery!
